About the position

The Content Producer for CNN Newsource is responsible for facilitating and curating the acquisition of top and trending stories for CNN platforms and partners. This role requires a blend of journalistic skills and business acumen, focusing on maintaining strong relationships with affiliates and understanding the local news marketplace. The Content Producer ensures timely delivery of editorial content across various platforms, balancing journalistic integrity with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and curate the acquisition of top and trending stories for CNN platforms and partners.
• Maintain regular communication with affiliates to surface the best content for broadcast and digital.
• Produce regional content for distribution via Bitcentral for affiliate use.
• Ensure all content contains accurate editorial information for live, tape, and archive purposes.
• Develop and maintain solid business partnerships with Newsource Sales Representatives.
• Understand the affiliate landscape and changing needs of the affiliate business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Television-Film Production, Communications, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a news environment with previous newsroom experience.
• Experience in newsgathering through social media outlets.
• Knowledge of Newsource distribution platform BitCentral.
