About the position

The Content Strategist will support a Healthcare Nonprofit by developing a taxonomy and tagging system aligned with industry terminology, specifically in medical and radiology contexts. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the discoverability and extraction of relevant medical literature content over a period of 8-10 weeks, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, and will be performed remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an initial content strategy framework including taxonomy, tagging, labeling, and classification.
  • Apply the content strategy to specific cases related to Liver Lesions/Tumors and Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH).
  • Validate and refine the strategy based on results from a dry run.
  • Propose gaps in content to enhance discoverability and extraction.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that support the content strategy, including auto-classification and auto-tagging.
  • Ensure chosen technologies can implement the strategy and integrate with existing systems.
  • Recommend best practices on system performance and taxonomy principles.
  • Deliver a high-level roadmap for implementation, including resources and timelines.
  • Work closely with the Director to align with stakeholder leaders in Publications, Education, and IT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, Data Science, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5-8 years of recent experience in content classification, taxonomy design, tagging, and content strategy.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, especially in medical imaging or healthcare.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing taxonomy and tagging frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems (CMS), data annotation tools, and taxonomy management software.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with healthcare-related content, particularly in imaging or diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven content classification tools and automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with controlled vocabularies, metadata standards, and SEO best practices.
