AccuWeather is seeking a Freelance Content Writer to join the Digital Editorial Content team during Hurricane Season from July to September 2024. This position is remote and will last approximately three months, from late July to late October, requiring around 80-100 hours of work per 30 days. The Freelance Content Writer will be responsible for producing compelling and informative content that aligns with the AccuWeather brand. This role involves identifying and pulling articles from our partners, uploading them to AccuWeather.com, and staying on top of trending weather news and social media trends. The writer will also pitch story ideas and write short articles and blog posts that engage our audience. Additionally, the writer will monitor local news stories in areas where hurricanes are forecast to landfall and create short, compelling posts for the live blog. The ideal candidate should possess excellent writing skills, a strong understanding of grammar and syntax, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. This is a paid freelance position that requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overnights. The successful candidate will contribute to AccuWeather's mission of providing accurate and timely weather information to help people better plan their activities and keep their families safe.
