About the position

The Content Writer for the French Reading program at NewGlobe plays a crucial role in developing educational content tailored for French-speaking students. This position involves creating textbooks, teacher guides, and assessment materials that align with the curriculum and support effective reading instruction. The role requires collaboration with various team members and a strong understanding of pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content for three termly textbooks for each level of the French Reading program, including vocabulary lists and decodable passages.
  • Collaborate with a Specialist and a Director to ensure textbook content aligns with the scope and sequence.
  • Create instructional content for teacher guides, including vocabulary activities and comprehension exercises.
  • Plan and develop assessment items for exams based on instructional content.
  • Maintain and update team tools and systems for tracking content progress.
  • Manage time effectively and collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in French reading, writing, and speaking (Native speaker or bilingual).
  • At least 2-3 years of experience teaching reading in a French immersion setting, ideally at the primary level.
  • Experience developing French reading content.
  • Strong understanding of systematic phonics and evidence-based reading strategies.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree.
