About the position

The Content Writer for Paid Family & Medical Leave at ShelterPoint Life Insurance Company is a key role within the marketing team, responsible for creating clear and engaging content that translates complex insurance regulations into accessible information. This position supports the company's growth by producing various types of content across multiple channels, ensuring that messaging is tailored to different audience segments. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a proactive approach to content development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create content that is strategy-driven and reflective of ShelterPoint's tone and voice.
  • Write well-crafted, accurate, and easy-to-understand content about Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) for various channels.
  • Collaborate with Product and other stakeholders during content creation.
  • Work with the SEO expert on content opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team on implementation of content.
  • Stay updated on PFML developments and industry trends.
  • Contribute to editorial planning and maintain the editorial calendar.
  • Support the setup of blog posts in the content management system.
  • Assist with general copy editing and proofreading as requested.
  • Facilitate approvals and maintain records for job file/audit purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 2-4 years of related work experience after graduation.
  • Solid MS Office skills.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong analytical and comprehension skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work under minimal guidance and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative skills to work well with team members and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
  • Exemplary work ethic and follow-through with results.
  • Quick learner with a proactive drive for continuous improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of statutory benefit insurance or other highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with NY Advertising Regulations.
