About the position

The Content Writer at Scheels All Sports, Inc. is responsible for creating and optimizing engaging content that aligns with SEO best practices. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure consistent messaging and requires a flexible writing style to cater to different audiences. The position also emphasizes customer service and professional development, making it ideal for individuals passionate about sports, fitness, and the outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of SEO principles and content optimization
• Research, write, and edit original content using SEO best practices for category, product, and other website pages
• Develop and monitor campaigns, complete tasks on time, and revise them as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements
• Collaborate with multiple teams to create content and ensure consistent and accurate messaging
• Flexible writing style to address multiple audiences while maintaining the brand voice
• Use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and structure
• Basic to advanced typing and computer skills and a willingness to learn SEO Marketing Platforms and Workflow Management Systems
• Must be flexible to work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, averaging 40 hours per week
• Some customer service shifts will be required throughout the holiday season, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed
• Other duties that may be assigned by leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communication, English, Journalism, Digital Marketing, or related field preferred
• Customer service skills
• Ability to treat co-workers, customers, and business partners with respect and appreciation
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
• Proficiency in writing and implementing grammar principles
• Basic math skills
