About the position

Outlier is seeking experienced English writers to assist in training generative AI models through a freelance, remote opportunity. This role involves reading, writing, and assessing AI-generated text, providing valuable human feedback to enhance AI performance. The position offers flexible hours, allowing writers to work at their convenience.

Responsibilities

• Read English text to rank a series of responses produced by an AI model.
• Write and rewrite prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Requirements

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution.
• Strong writing style with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar.
• Logic and reasoning skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text.

• Higher education such as a PhD may lead to higher pay rates.
