About the position

As an AI Content Writer at Amazon.com Services LLC, you will play a crucial role in the development and training of large language models (LLMs) through the review and generation of preference data. This position is a nine-month fixed temporary assignment that requires a high degree of judgment and analytical skills. You will be responsible for reviewing both machine-generated and human-generated content, ensuring that it meets the established guidelines and quality standards. Your work will directly contribute to the responsible development and deployment of generative AI technologies, which Amazon is heavily investing in to address some of humanity's most pressing challenges. In this role, you will operate with a significant level of autonomy while working on clearly defined use cases. You will leverage your expertise across various competencies, including Computer Science, Literature, Music, Mathematics, Economics, and Travel, to produce high-quality content. Your responsibilities will include identifying operational challenges, suggesting process improvements, and mentoring junior data associates. You will also engage in team calibrations to maintain the highest quality of data generation and contribute to the formulation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines. Your key tasks will involve creating original and engaging content, proofreading and editing to ensure accuracy, and conducting quality checks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor quality progress and implement measures for improvement. Additionally, you will develop a deep understanding of the subject matter and work closely with stakeholders to validate information and ensure accuracy in content creation. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.

Responsibilities

• Review machine and human-generated demonstrations to generate preference data for training purposes.
• Create original and engaging content across multiple work types to train LLMs.
• Write clear, concise, factually and grammatically correct responses adhering to SOPs and style guidelines.
• Proofread and edit content to ensure high-quality standards, accuracy, and consistency.
• Research and verify content quality based on Content Guidelines.
• Approve or reject content based on pre-defined guidelines and explain reasoning behind decisions.
• Perform quality checks by reviewing and proofreading; provide feedback and training to coworkers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor quality progress and investigate variations.
• Develop a deep understanding of SMEs for processes and collaborate with teams to test new SOPs.
• Support leadership and technical teams by participating in training and project management.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in English and fluency in one of the following languages: German, Spanish, Arabic, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, or Portuguese.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Linguistics, Journalism, or Communications.
• Prior experience of 2-4 years in content writing with an emphasis on creative or technical writing.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt writing style to suit various style guidelines and customers.
• Understanding of academic integrity, e.g., plagiarism.
