About the position

The Content Writer position at Launch That involves creating a variety of high-quality content for websites and occasionally for third-party platforms. The role focuses on conducting in-depth research, executing content marketing strategies, and producing original evergreen content such as blog posts, articles, guides, and infographics. The goal is to engage audiences, attract customers, and enhance brand awareness through well-researched and fact-filled materials. This position is not managerial and emphasizes creativity and collaboration within a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on industry-related topics to develop original content.
  • Stay updated on the latest topic developments and trends.
  • Use SEO guidelines and data-driven insights to write and rewrite content.
  • Develop content marketing strategies with an understanding of industry best practices.
  • Produce accurate, clean, and well-organized content for online consumption.
  • Regularly recommend content ideas such as infographics and videos.
  • Audit content on competitor sites and identify content gaps.
  • Manage assignments using project management software.
  • Proofread and self-edit content before submission to ensure quality.
  • Communicate with other writers and editors consistently.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a professional writing environment.
  • Portfolio of published articles on financial, retirement, or insurance topics.
  • Intermediate understanding of technical aspects of writing content for the web.
  • Experience working in a CMS such as WordPress.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of AP style.
  • Ability to self-edit and apply editorial feedback.
  • Experience doing research using multiple sources.
  • Familiarity with keyword research and SEO.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Advertising, Marketing or related field.
  • Professional designations such as CFP, CPA, RICP, CFA.
  • Experience writing about financial, retirement, and/or insurance topics.
  • Professional journalism experience.
  • SEO experience and knowledge of current trends.
