About the position

The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) is seeking a talented and dynamic Content Writer to join our Marketing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the kitchen and bath industry and be skilled in crafting compelling content across multiple platforms for our audiences, including current and prospective NKBA members. This person will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing stories about economic and industry-related news, developments, and businesses for a variety of marketing channels, including web pages, social media, newsletters, the blog, video scripts, press releases, print and digital publications, webinars, and more. The Content Writer must possess a collaborative nature to align with NKBA's culture and will work cross-functionally with all NKBA teams, including Leadership, Events, Chapters, Sales, Research, Training, Governance, Production, and Member Relations. The ideal candidate has established a track record of fostering relationships with business and industry experts and has played an active role in shaping content as a thought partner and strategist. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include developing engaging, original content for various marketing platforms, generating content for key brand research, business, and news initiatives, and ensuring all content aligns with NKBA's guidelines and editorial standards. The Content Writer will also collaborate with the Social Media Manager on content calendars, assist in identifying the best formats and channels for publishing NKBA's insights, and utilize internal tools to communicate and manage projects. The role requires attending and participating in person at the annual KBIS trade show and other events as needed. Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging, original content for various marketing platforms, including the website, social media, newsletters, blogs, video scripts, press releases, and print and digital advertisements.
  • Generate content for key brand research, business, and news initiatives in support of NKBA as an industry leader.
  • Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, style, and consistency, ensuring alignment with NKBA's guidelines and editorial standards.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on content calendars, help craft posts, and engage with the audience on social media platforms.
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and subject matter experts to develop and execute content strategies that support NKBA's strategic objectives.
  • Utilize internal tools to communicate, stay connected, and manage projects across various teams.
  • Attend and participate in person at the annual KBIS trade show and other events as needed.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or master's degree in a related field (journalism, communications, business) or a similar field that emphasizes writing, with demonstrated high academic achievement.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional writing and editing experience, with a focus on research and writing stories on economics and businesses for publications in print or on the web.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience researching/writing impactful digital/print copy for both B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Strong understanding of brand voice and ability to adapt writing style accordingly.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, and SEO best practices.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to measure content performance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, G-Suite, etc.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
