About the position

The Content Writer - Military (Navy) will play a crucial role in the development of study materials utilized by U.S. Navy Sailors preparing for the Navy Wide Advancement Exam. This position involves a thorough review of provided information and the subsequent creation of study materials through an employer-provided web portal. The writer will be the primary source of content creation, focusing on their area of specialty while adhering to minimum content creation guidelines. The ideal candidate is expected to be an expert in their respective career field, possessing documented experience across multiple platforms relevant to the Navy.

Responsibilities

  • Review employer-provided material to identify key points for content creation.
  • Create content in the employer-provided web portal, ensuring in-depth coverage of material related to the Navy Wide Advancement Exam bibliography and other relevant topics.
  • Write content in technical English, adhering to industry-appropriate grammar, spelling, and language conventions.
  • Submit work for approval and make all required revisions as necessary.
  • Dedicate a minimum of 7 hours per week to content creation within the employer's defined writing standards.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of Military - Navy (Active Duty) experience.
  • Navy Enlisted Ratings with Warfare Qualification and rank-appropriate PQS qualifications.
  • Completion of appropriate Class 'A' school or other authorized substitutes.
  • Competent in online navigation and proficient in Google Suite services.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Navy Enlisted Advancement System, technical reading and writing, and office computer use.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, capable of dedicating 7+ hours per week to assigned materials.
