About the position
Sneed & Mitchell LLP is looking for a motivated writer who can create clean and compelling copy for our leading personal injury law firm's blogs. The content writer will craft compelling angles for our blogs based on news stories of local interest, and will also distill sources such as web research, original interviews with attorneys, and court documents into frequent and compelling blog posts, press releases, and articles each week. In essence, the content will pack the punch of an informative local news story or legal information website aimed at a non-legal audience, while helping to market the firm's services to those looking for legal representation. Responsibilities
- Create clean and compelling copy for the firm's blogs.
- Craft compelling angles for blogs based on local news stories.
- Distill sources such as web research, interviews with attorneys, and court documents into blog posts, press releases, and articles.
- Produce frequent and compelling content each week that informs and markets the firm's services.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in journalism or writing in a marketing and communications capacity.
- An ability to tackle everything from concise lines of copy to daily, 1,000+ word blog posts and larger writing projects.
- A curiosity for researching and writing about new ideas and the ability to pitch coverage topics.
- Willingness to learn about writing on legal topics, even if prior experience is not required.
- Knowledge of AP Style is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work in the Texas office if/when needed.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience writing for SEO is helpful but not required.
