About the position
The Continuous Improvement Engineer at Ferroglobe PLC plays a crucial role in enhancing plant operations by developing and implementing a comprehensive continuous improvement program. This position focuses on optimizing operational efficiency, ensuring quality assurance standards are met, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the plant.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
- Oversee the execution of the continuous improvement program to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and collaborate with department leaders to optimize operational processes and implement best practices targeting performance metrics.
- Plan and manage plant trials and projects in conjunction with engineering and operations departments to meet quality metrics.
- Conduct risk management activities to ensure continuity of production processes, focusing on reducing electrode defects and consumption rates.
- Develop and facilitate training programs for employees to enhance skills and improve productivity.
- Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and customer awareness throughout plant operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (process, Mechanical, Metallurgical).
- Demonstrated experience with quality systems and process optimization is advantageous.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across various departments to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, or other continuous improvement training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
