About the position

The Continuous Improvement Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the operational efficiency of the organization by implementing Continuous Improvement plans and initiatives. This position requires a strong background in Change Management, as the manager will analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes, identifying areas for improvement and developing sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable enhancements. The role involves a thorough analysis of manufacturing processes, ensuring that improvements are not only effective but also sustainable over time. In addition to process analysis, the Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for training and skills enhancement for all employees regarding continuous improvement tools and techniques. This includes providing technical expertise and implementing lean principles, techniques, and methods throughout the facility. The manager will also be involved in evaluating new technologies to determine their potential to support engineering business processes, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of industry advancements. The role demands a consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in significant matters, with regular attendance being crucial. The manager may need to work nights and weekends, as well as variable schedules, to meet the demands of the position. Overall, this role is essential for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in implementing the Continuous Improvement plan and initiatives.
  • Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develop sustainable improvements.
  • Analyze, measure, and report the effectiveness of existing manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in training and skills enhancement for all employees regarding continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Participate in providing technical expertise and implement lean principles, techniques, and methods.
  • Recommend solutions to problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and determine their support for engineering business processes.
  • Maintain a safe production environment.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • LEAN practitioner certification or experience.
  • Strong Change Management experience.
  • Ability to provide special knowledge and expertise while implementing continuous improvement.
  • Experience with manufacturing cells and materials.
  • Proficient in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows Software applications, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
