About the position

The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Coordinator for the Children, Youth and Families (CYF) division plays a crucial role in enhancing service delivery and improving practices within child welfare services in Fairfax County. This position involves leading a team to implement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiencies and ensuring best practices in child welfare. The CQI Coordinator will supervise three staff members and work closely with various stakeholders to facilitate project management and continuous improvement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous quality improvement efforts in the CYF division.
• Supervise three CQI staff members.
• Implement new initiatives and practice improvement strategies using project management principles.
• Facilitate workgroups to promote child welfare best practices.
• Lead internal and external case review activities.
• Develop job aids, tools, surveys, training manuals, policies, and procedures to support practice improvement.
• Prepare and present project updates and final reports.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and strategies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• 4 years of professional work experience in child welfare or related functional area.
• Knowledge of child welfare practices and continuous quality improvement principles.
• Ability to manage projects effectively and design qualitative case reviews.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience in supervising staff and facilitating groups.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Extensive knowledge of human services processes and policies focusing on child welfare.
• Experience with practice improvement and project implementation in social work.
