About the position

The position involves providing oversight of the Company's regional Finance departments, ensuring that financial operations are efficient and effective. The role requires the development and production of financial tools and reports that address both routine and special needs. These tools will be instrumental in collecting, disseminating, and analyzing operational financial data, which is crucial for identifying and correcting problems within the organization. Additionally, the position entails responding to government requests for financial information, which underscores the importance of accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting. The responsibilities include overseeing the Center Finance Departments, which encompasses providing support, technical assistance, and training to the staff. A significant part of the role involves reviewing financial reconciliations and all financial reports, as well as supporting Centers in the use of financial software such as Microsoft Dynamics SL and PayCom. The position may require extensive travel to various Centers for on-site assignments, which could involve filling temporary vacancies, resolving specific financial issues, and conducting miscellaneous finance training. Moreover, the role requires a comprehensive understanding of the Job Corps Center Finance Department systems and tasks. The individual will be responsible for reviewing and assisting in the evaluations of Center Finance staff, as well as facilitating their training and development. This includes holding individual staff accountable for their performance and ensuring timely completion of tasks. The position also involves assisting in the development, review, and reliability of data and reports that support budget management and control at the Centers. Enhancing existing financial reports and creating new ones to improve the understanding of financial status for both Center and Corporate management is a key responsibility. The individual will compile monthly summaries of contract financial performance for Corporate management review and will work collaboratively with other Center Finance and Administration Department staff to support productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency in finance operations. The role also includes developing both perpetual and requested special reports for Company and Center Management, providing timely and relevant analyses to aid in decision-making. Finally, the individual will perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Center Finance Departments, providing support, technical assistance, and training.
  • Review Center financial reconciliations and all financial reports.
  • Support Centers on the use of Microsoft Dynamics SL and PayCom.
  • Travel to Centers for on-site Finance Department assignments to fill temporary vacancies and provide specific problem resolution.
  • Learn all aspects of Job Corps Center Finance Department systems and tasks.
  • Review and assist in evaluations of Center Finance staff.
  • Assist with Center Finance staff training and development, holding staff accountable for performance and timeliness.
  • Assist in the development, review, and reliability of data and reports for budget management and control at the Centers.
  • Improve existing financial reports and develop new reports for management understanding of financial status.
  • Compile monthly summaries of contract financial performance for Corporate management review.
  • Assist with other Center Finance and Administration Department staff to support productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Develop perpetual and requested special reports for Company and Center Management based on accumulated data for decision-making.
  • Provide detailed review of Center reports to Corporate management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field required.
  • 3-plus years' experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Analytically adept and computer literate with excellent spreadsheet proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational and writing skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon) and PayCom is desired.
  • Job Corps and supervisory experience are preferred.
