About the position

The Contract Administrative Aide for the Parks & Recreation department is responsible for assisting in the management of facility operations, including administrative tasks, public relations, and support for programming activities. This role requires working approximately 28 hours a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and involves direct interaction with the public and children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing the facility operations including the Parks & Recreation catalog and registrations.
  • Perform secretarial duties such as answering phones and bookkeeping.
  • Input data into computer systems, process purchase orders, and check requests.
  • Input work orders and assist with children's programs as necessary.
  • Maintain records, manage reservations, and schedule calendars.
  • Assist with programming activities and prepare public service announcements (PSAs).
  • Handle cash and perform related financial tasks.
  • Provide professional public relations and clerical support.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within sixty (60) days of hire.
  • Experience in typing and computer skills.
  • Ability to work with children and persons with developmental disabilities.
