About the position

The Contract Administrative Aide for the Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for assisting in the management of facility operations, including administrative tasks, public relations, and support for programming activities. This role requires effective communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work with diverse populations, including children and individuals with developmental disabilities. The position is part-time, approximately 28 hours a week, and includes evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing the facility operations including the Parks & Recreation catalog and registrations.
  • Perform secretarial duties such as answering phones and bookkeeping.
  • Input data into computer systems and process purchase orders and check requests.
  • Assist with children's programs and public relations activities.
  • Maintain records, manage reservations, and schedule calendars.
  • Handle cash and prepare public service announcements (PSAs).
  • Work professionally with the public and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within sixty (60) days of date of hire.
  • Strong public relations and clerical skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills and recreational programming knowledge.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in recreational programming.
  • Ability to work with persons with developmental disabilities.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $14.00 - $17.00.
  • Flexible working hours, approximately 28 hours a week.
