About the position

The Contract Attorney will support the Billing Department and Office of the General Counsel at a global law firm by reviewing, analyzing, and tagging outside counsel guidelines and billing procedures. This temporary position requires a strong attention to detail and familiarity with legal terms and billing practices, making it ideal for an experienced attorney with a background in corporate law or legal operations.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and tag outside counsel agreements, including fee structures, payment terms, and scope of services, using categorized templates.
• Add summary notes with guidance from the Assistant General Counsel and Director of Client Guidelines.
• Work closely with the Assistant General Counsel and Director of Client Guidelines to resolve discrepancies or gaps in client guidelines and billing-related concerns.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in California or Washington.
• 3+ years of experience in a legal environment, preferably with a focus on legal billing, outside counsel management, or contract review.
• Strong knowledge of outside counsel billing practices, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience reviewing outside counsel guidelines.
• Familiarity with Intapp Time and Intapp Terms.
• Familiarity with e-billing platforms such as CounselLink or TyMetrix.
