About the position

The Research Assistant position is a contract role focused on supporting preclinical studies through the execution of various functional assessments in rodent models. This role is essential for characterizing disease models and evaluating drug efficacy, thereby contributing to significant scientific research advancements.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional assessments, including open-field tests, rotarod, grip strength, gait analysis, plethysmography, and ECG.
• Support data collection, quality control, and accurate documentation per GLP and GDP standards.
• Collaborate with the Animal Outcomes team to set up experiments and maintain study protocols.
• Assist with inventory management, equipment cleaning, and routine maintenance.
• Handle rodents humanely and confidently while adhering to animal welfare standards.

Requirements

• 5 years of laboratory experience
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline
• Experience with laboratory animal handling and restraint techniques
• Passionate about animal welfare and research integrity.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree in a scientific discipline
