About the position

The Contract Executive is a pivotal role at Southland Industries, responsible for leading and supporting the growth of the company's business in terms of revenue and operating income. This position is focused on driving growth through new customer acquisition while also identifying opportunities within the existing customer base. The Contract Executive will utilize their understanding of cash flow and overhead to market effectively, ensuring that work is sold at the right price to maximize profits and exceed corporate financial goals. This involves a keen awareness of costs, value engineering, scope changes, and change order opportunities, as well as the ability to pursue and secure these opportunities while managing projects within estimated costs and ensuring timely collection of payments. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Contract Executive will develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for marketing, fostering a collaborative relationship with the division construction manager and other Contract Executives. This role requires the ability to accurately forecast total project costs and profits, ensuring that projects are priced correctly and managed efficiently through effective labor feedback, materials management, and financial analysis techniques. The Contract Executive will also demonstrate leadership by representing the company’s image positively and instilling confidence in customers through ethical practices and commitment to excellence. The position involves direct leadership and management of project managers, project engineers, and project foremen, promoting team spirit and corporate culture. The Contract Executive will build long-term relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and job-site performance, while also committing to providing internal customers with the necessary resources to operate efficiently. Participation in corporate training and industry organizations is essential to promote Southland Industries' capabilities and foster a highly educated workforce.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems.
  • Strong business management, sales, marketing, and operations skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with clients and vendors.
  • Solid understanding of contracts and ability to formulate business correspondence.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent experience of 8+ years.
