About the position

The Contract Logistics Operations Manager at Kuehne+Nagel is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations at the distribution center in Union City, GA. This role involves leading a team, managing staffing, budgeting, and customer service, while also focusing on continuous improvement and succession planning.

Responsibilities

• Establish long-range labor needs based on sales forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and security standards.
• Implement processes for building maintenance, equipment upkeep, housekeeping, and sanitation programs.
• Collaborate with management to establish operational goals.
• Lead warehouse operations and supervise personnel to achieve goals.
• Control and direct all transportation into and out of the warehouse.
• Support Production Department Managers to ensure smooth inventory flow for shipping and storage.
• Set up standard training programs for all operational employees and conduct training.
• Complete annual performance reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of industry experience.
• 7+ years of managerial experience in a distribution environment; 3PL experience preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• 2+ years of experience leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and Continuous Process Improvement.
