About the position

The position involves managing and negotiating supply contracts, service agreements, and purchases for Virtua Health. The role is critical in ensuring competitive pricing and service levels while maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers. The individual will be expected to exercise critical thinking to solve problems and implement strategies for better utilization of products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and negotiates contracts to ensure competitive pricing, price protection, and service levels.
  • Ensures appropriate authorization, routing of contracts, distribution, and document management occurs.
  • Implements configuration changes pertaining to new or amended contracts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develops and introduces better utilization of products and services.
  • Implements suggestions to secure measurable savings.
  • Initiates, creates, facilitates, and manages the bid process for products and services.
  • Conducts market research and strategy development with internal stakeholders.
  • Regularly meets with assigned vendors to review contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and consider future opportunities.
  • Reviews and resolves invoice discrepancies and accruals.

Requirements

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in sourcing or procurement activities, or 2-3 years' experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
