About the position

Our client located in Marina Del Rey, CA (Los Angeles County) is seeking Manual QA Testers to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a variety of testing experience to include black box, white box, regression, smoke testing, etc., and have experience in an ISO regulated industry. The role involves developing and maintaining test documentation including plans, procedures, and reports, as well as maintaining requirements traceability through all levels of testing. The Manual QA Tester will execute both manual and automated tests, identify and document defects and questionable functions, and manage and coordinate the resolution of defects through to closure. Additionally, the candidate will lead small teams of software testers, participate in team meetings and activities, and engage in peer reviews of software documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test documentation including plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Maintain requirements traceability through all levels of testing.
  • Execute manual and automated tests.
  • Identify and document defects and questionable functions.
  • Manage and coordinate resolution of defects through to closure.
  • Lead small teams of software testers.
  • Participate in team meetings and activities.
  • Participate in peer reviews of software documentation.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in formal test cycle (planning, documentation, execution, analysis, and reporting).
  • Experience testing client-server applications.
  • Experience in an ISO / CMMI environment.
  • Experience with the software engineering process.
  • Experience with configuration management and associated tools.
  • Experience in adhering to IEEE software quality assurance and test standards.
  • Understanding of formal software engineering life cycle and process.
  • Ability to contribute to Configuration Control Board and engineering milestone reviews.
  • Ability to test software following good quality principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and quickly adapt to schedule demands.
  • Ability to plan and communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
