Contract Manufacturing Sales Manager

About the position

The position involves a dynamic role in sales within the contract manufacturing sector, specifically focusing on metal fabrication, laser table operation, and machining. The candidate will be responsible for devising and implementing sales strategies, setting goals, and forecasting sales performance. This role requires frequent regional travel to meet with potential and existing customers, participate in trade shows, and conduct industry analysis to identify business opportunities. The candidate will also be expected to maintain effective budgetary control of sales expenses and drive new sales leads to proposals and quotations, both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement sales strategies, goals, and forecasts in contract manufacturing including metal fabrication, laser table operation, and machining.
• Identify business opportunities through industry analysis and relationship building.
• Maintain effective budgetary control of sales expenses.
• Drive new sales leads to proposals/quotations individually and as a part of a team.
• Lead the preparation of budgetary and formal quotations.
• Coordinate meetings with potential and existing customers.
• Investigate incoming sales leads.
• Research industry trends and potential projects.
• Participate in trade shows.
• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, etc.
• Develop and deliver sales presentations.
• Develop and maintain professional communications.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Travel for customer visits, trade shows, meetings, etc.
• Other functions as assigned.
