About the position
The Nuclear Med Tech position involves preparing and administering radioactive medication to patients for therapeutic or imaging purposes, primarily focusing on nuclear cardiac imaging. The role requires providing technical support to medical professionals and physicians for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of cardiac patients, while also delivering direct patient care in a hospital setting. This is a full-time, temporary contract position with on-call responsibilities and a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radioactive medication to patients for therapeutic or imaging purposes.
- Perform nuclear cardiac imaging for the cardiac patient population using a nuclear camera.
- Provide technical support to medical professionals and physicians for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of cardiac patients.
- Deliver direct patient care to high acuity patients, including emergency, inpatient, and outpatient classes, supporting trauma and ICU cases.
- Be on-call as required by the department, including after-hours and holiday rotations.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital setting.
- Associate's Degree in Nuclear Medicine.
- Valid CNMT certification.
- BLS (AHA) certification.
- Valid MI RN License.
