About the position

Beaufort Shaw & Associates is seeking a detail-oriented Contract Paralegal to support attorneys in a dynamic legal environment. This full-time, hybrid position involves assisting with various legal tasks, including motion practice, contract drafting, and managing the attorney's calendar. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to transition to fully remote work after an initial two-month period of hybrid work.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and finalize legal documents, including contracts, motions, and pleadings.
• Prepare and file motions with the court, ensuring adherence to deadlines and procedures.
• Respond to motions and assist with research, drafting, and document preparation.
• Manage the attorney's calendar, scheduling court appearances, client meetings, and deadlines.
• Conduct legal research and compile relevant case law and supporting information.
• Maintain and organize case files for family law, commercial litigation, and real estate matters.
• Liaise with clients, courts, and opposing counsel as needed.
• Provide administrative support, including correspondence, document management, and filing.

Requirements

• Associate degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in litigation, family law, or contract drafting.
• Knowledge of legal procedures in family law, commercial litigation, and real estate matters.
• Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively.
