About the position

The Contract Senior Java Developer will be responsible for developing sophisticated front office applications within the Equities or Swaps domain. This role requires a strong understanding of business requirements, rigorous testing of software, and collaboration with other teams to manage batch processing and job failures. The position is hybrid, requiring at least three days in the office in New York City.

Responsibilities

• Developing sophisticated front office applications
• Implementing and performing rigorous testing of the software developed
• Understanding business requirements and writing specifications
• Building applications as per the specifications
• Administering and collaborating with other teams to handle all batch processing and manage job failures.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Java experience (SE, EE)
• 3+ years with messaging technologies (JMS)
• 3+ years of database experience, particularly with SQL Server
• Experience with Spring framework
• Experience with Maven
• Experience with real-time integration with third-party systems (e.g., Murex, NuvoPrime, SwapOne)
• Strong architecture and design skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas and solutions clearly
• Self-driven with the ability to lead projects from initiation to completion
• Strong educational background with a BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area.
