About the position

The Contract Specialist at TDA Research, Inc. plays a crucial role in managing the contracting lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of contracts. This position involves facilitating negotiations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and providing superior customer service to both internal and external clients. The successful candidate will work closely with various government agencies and internal teams to ensure the effective administration of contracts, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate negotiations for federally funded contracts, subcontract agreements, and commercial contracts.
  • Review, revise, negotiate, and execute complex contracts and nondisclosure agreements in accordance with company policies.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable authority.
  • Professionally represent the company on contractual transactions and work closely with a variety of customers, including federal agencies.
  • Process new contracts, modifications, subcontracts, and administrative changes in the company's contracting and financial system.
  • Populate and maintain contract briefs outlining important contractual terms and requirements for a high volume of contracts.
  • Work closely with accounting, program management, and other professionals to resolve issues related to contract provisions.
  • Maintain contract-related records in an organized manner and in compliance with applicable records retention schedules.
  • Advise project managers and leadership on contract terms.
  • Implement solutions to mitigate contractual risks.
  • Actively track contracts from inception to closeout to ensure performance of contractual obligations.
  • Conduct compliance activities including subcontractor risk assessments and managing government property.
  • Facilitate and process contract amendments.
  • Learn and stay current on relevant federal regulations.
  • Maintain and enhance forms and questionnaires as well as internal templates and process documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Relevant work experience of 3 or more years of recent hands-on contract administration experience.
  • Proven analytical ability and close attention to detail; comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • High level of professionalism in dealing with government agencies, customers, leadership, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Proven organization, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to handle short deadlines / quick-turn requests.
  • Team player with a drive for excellence and ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCCM certification (Certified Commercial Contracts Manager), or CPCM certification (Certified Professional Contracts Manager), or CFCM certification (Certified Federal Contracts Manager) a plus.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) and other federal agency regulations.
