Contract Support Specialist - CEI

About the position

The Contract Support Specialist (CSS) at Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering (ICE) will support the Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) team by performing basic contract administration functions for civil transportation projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This full-time role involves working under the supervision of the Project Administrator and Senior Project Engineer, requiring effective communication, technical decision-making, and proficiency in relevant software and contract management processes.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Analyze contract quantities to prevent overruns and underruns.
• Become proficient in Trimble Business Center - Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) or approved surface comparison software.
• Understand which surfaces are needed from the designer and survey data from the field.
• Prepare survey data for use in software and generate accurate earthwork quantities.
• Exercise independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to project office aspects.
• Familiarize with the Department's Procedures covering project-related duties and proficiently use necessary computer programs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.
• No prior experience required for personnel with engineering, engineering technology, or construction management degrees.
• Four years of CEI experience for personnel without relevant degrees, or two years of experience with 3D Modeling and CADD.
• CTQP Final Estimates Level II certification required.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including creating spreadsheets with formulas.
• Knowledge of SiteManager/PrC.
