About the position

The Contracting & Procurement Officer position at the Oklahoma Military Department involves managing and directing significant phases of comprehensive operating programs. Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct components of agency programs or major divisions.

  • Supervise and direct staff in program planning and implementation.
  • Advise on resource requirements and program priorities; estimate timetables for activities.
  • Develop policies, rules, and regulations consistent with laws governing programs.
  • Conduct training, seminars, and meetings; represent the agency at various events.
  • Draft policies and procedures; develop contract or grant proposals.
  • Review proposed legislation and recommend changes; act as legislative liaison.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration.
  • Four years of professional experience in business or public administration, including one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, substituting one year of technical administrative experience for each year of required education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in grant or contract program management.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to public administration.
