About the position

The Manager Inventory Planning & Replenishment position at Contractors' Warehouse is a pivotal role responsible for developing, executing, and monitoring strategic inventory initiatives for a diverse portfolio of products within a fast-paced retail environment. This position requires a leader who can effectively manage a team dedicated to the successful implementation of replenishment strategies at both store and distribution center levels. The Manager will be directly accountable for ensuring the consistent execution of common processes and algorithms aimed at enhancing inventory performance metrics such as turns, in-stock levels, and fill rates. In this role, the Manager will conduct comprehensive flow analyses, stock balancing, and ordering processes to finalize inventory requirements. They will generate orders, monitor and prioritize inbound containers, and review in-stock performance for inventory, SKUs, and sales responsibilities that average between $2-3 billion annually. Regular interaction with a team of Senior Analysts and Analysts, as well as Senior Leadership and cross-functional peers, is essential to provide statistical analyses that facilitate more accurate decision-making. The Manager will also be responsible for creating and communicating leadership summaries and presentations, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with inventory strategies. This position requires a strong focus on coaching, guiding, and developing a large team of analysts who manage a wide range of categories across the merchandising department. The Manager will interface with various functional areas, including Merchandising, Distribution, Transportation, Finance, Demand Planning, and Executive Leadership, to drive inventory performance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic inventory initiatives for a portfolio of products.
  • Lead a team accountable for successful replenishment implementation at store and DC levels.
  • Conduct flow analysis, stock balancing, and finalize inventory requirements.
  • Generate orders and monitor inbound containers to prioritize inventory flow.
  • Review in-stock performance for inventory, SKUs, and sales averaging $2-3 billion annually.
  • Interface with Senior Analysts, Analysts, and Senior Leadership to provide statistical analysis for decision-making.
  • Create and communicate leadership summaries and presentations.
  • Drive replenishment strategy for departments and implement new recommendations.
  • Manage field feedback and communication regarding inventory performance.
  • Interact with Merchandising leadership to drive business reviews and inventory insights.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding inventory and replenishment processes.
  • Translate and ensure training for new processes, tools, and systems for associates.
  • Coach, manage, and develop associates on the team, leading cross-functional inventory efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in Inventory Management systems and principles or Supply Chain Leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret data.
  • Proven leadership skills and understanding of retail forecasting principles and inventory replenishment strategies.
  • Experience in process improvement and quantitative analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous work experience in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Merchandising is valued.
  • Strong quantitative skills through knowledge of statistics and quantitative data analysis.
