About The Position

The Contracts Attorney (Manager) at Grant Thornton will be responsible for managing the firm's in-house legal department, focusing on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents. This role involves providing strategic legal advice, mitigating contractual risks, and ensuring compliance with legal standards while supporting the business's needs.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar (in good standing).
  • Experience reviewing, editing and negotiating professional services agreements, master service agreements, technology and software agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Experience negotiating or advising on master service agreements and engagement letters for accounting or professional services firms is desirable.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Ability to effectively advise on risk mitigation and provide legal solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior in-house experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities or unanticipated events.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, agreements and legal documents with clients and vendors.
  • Documenting any changes/amendments during contract execution.
  • Updating the contract database with negotiated contracts.
  • Providing strategic advice on contracts and agreements.
  • Responding promptly to a wide range of legal requests from the business.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the legal team to mitigate contractual risk.
  • Conducting legal research and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations related to contracts.
  • Performing other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
