About the position

The Control & Automation Engineer III at Harmac Medical Products, Inc. is responsible for applying mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering principles to design and develop automation and control systems for medical devices. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining equipment, and ensuring operational qualifications of control systems across various facility locations. The engineer will work independently and collaboratively, contributing to complex projects and providing technical support to enhance manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests control systems and components, equipment, and machinery.
  • Responsible for the installation and operational qualification of tools, equipment, control systems, and PLC-based hardware and software.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform assignments.
  • Applies electrical and mechanical engineering principles to achieve project goals.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains products and equipment.
  • Trains employees and identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures.
  • Determines and recommends suitable products or services for project needs.
  • Demonstrates core values of honesty, integrity, and respect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation or Controls Engineering, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in the field or in a related field.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations for analysis and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in competencies such as Instrument Control, Performance Analysis, and Control Systems.
  • Familiar with medical device equipment design concepts and practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • PLC knowledge and Robotics training.
  • Proficient in Solidworks or other design software (ACAD, Pro-E, etc.).
  • Knowledge of regulated industries and medical device manufacturing.
