About the position

The Control Engineer 2 position at M.C. Dean involves designing, developing, installing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control various systems and processes. This role requires technical expertise in industrial controls, cybersecurity, building automation, and energy management, among others. Control Engineers will work on complex automation solutions, utilizing their skills in programming, testing, and troubleshooting to meet customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Originate design documents for small projects and support large programs including narrative design documents and subsystem designs.
• Lead programming and configuration efforts for complex automation and SCADA applications.
• Author testing and commissioning procedures, and prepare test reports.
• Perform troubleshooting on service calls to existing and legacy system operators.
• Conduct surveys, inspections, and prepare cost estimates for small projects.

Requirements

• Proficient in programming languages such as ladder logic and structured text.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
• Experience in reading electrical and control schematics and plans.
• Experience in control system startup, configuration, and calibration.
• Proficient in designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs or DDCs from platforms like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, etc.
