About the position

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation. This Senior position resides within the IT OPS Platform Management Organization. The appropriate candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for the tools operational support. The candidate will engage with business owners, application, architecture, engineering teams, and peers to safely execute changes, respond to Major Incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities. This position is located in our McLean, VA office and will require flexibility for a mixture of weekday and weekend work hours. Our team is responsible for the operational stability of the firm's Enterprise Tools Operations Management environments. Our #1 goal is to maintain a stable and healthy environment with measurable performance for the firm and its customers. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Enterprise Tools Operations team and will be expected to perform in various areas including leadership, operations, and technology. We are seeking an experienced hands-on Control-M individual who can take a lead in administration, job migrations, and working with complex workflows and integrations. You will ensure the team operates effectively and provide knowledge and guidance in areas where gaps exist, addressing them proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with business owners, application, architecture, engineering teams, and peers to execute changes safely.
  • Respond to Major Incidents and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities as needed.
  • Lead in administration and job migrations for Control-M.
  • Work with complex workflows and integrations within Control-M.
  • Align work to appropriate team resources for efficient task completion.
  • Vet changes for accuracy and risk based on policy and governance.
  • Leverage automated processes to reduce manual intervention in repetitive tasks.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in information technology.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Control-M administration and architecture.
  • Extensive experience in migration of Control-M jobs between environments and from AutoSys to Control-M.
  • Strong understanding of all Control-M components, integrations, reporting, APIs, and scripting skills.
  • Proficiency in installing and configuring Control-M servers and agents, applying patches, and taking backups.
  • Thorough understanding of job scheduling and managing job workflows to automate business processes.
  • Ability to forecast job scheduling and optimize processes accordingly.
  • Understanding of CICD, DevOps tools, and application development lifecycle.
  • Experience in configuring monitoring for job execution and incident triage.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the secondary mortgage market and Multifamily business.
  • Experience with Service Now and Jira GAPS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
