About the position

As a Control Systems Engineer at Ramboll, you will be part of a dedicated team that specializes in Data Center Strategy, Planning, Design, Integration, Commissioning, and Testing. This role involves leading HVAC controls design, mentoring engineers, and developing innovative solutions for complex data center environments. You will work independently while collaborating with various disciplines to ensure efficient and effective project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and lead automation design teams of complex scope.
  • Mentor mechanical engineers and assist with training on controls design and development.
  • Design and implement front end platforms for HVAC controls.
  • Develop and improve configuration, programming, networking, and diagnostic standards.
  • Lead creation and modification of programming logic to meet sequence of operations (SOO) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs).
  • Design control, monitoring, and systems integration of HVAC and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain and deploy updated versions of applications for existing control systems with minimal supervision.
  • Lead development design and continuous improvement of configuration, programming, networking, and diagnostic standards.
  • Lead design of controls for centralized chilled water plants and condenser water plants.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering or relevant degree.
  • Licensed PE/EIT/Certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience with Building Monitoring Systems (BMS), Building Control Systems (BCM), or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Experience integrating PLC/ALC with complex data center or mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with controls products from companies such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, Automated Logic, Honeywell, GE Control Systems, Schneider Electric.
  • PLC/ALC programming experience.
  • Experience with critical HVAC equipment such as chillers, air handlers, CRAC/CRAH units, and boilers.
  • Familiarity with common BAS protocols like BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU, and Modbus TCP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in data center engineering with automation and controls.
  • Previous experience working on controls products from major manufacturers.
