About the position

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Control Systems Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Cybercore Analysis department. This position is integral to our mission of safeguarding industrial control systems (ICS) against cyber threats that could impact critical infrastructures, including military platforms and various industries. The successful candidate will work a 9x80 schedule at our REC facility, enjoying every other Friday off. Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Analysis department, the Control Systems Cybersecurity Analyst will engage in in-depth technical analyses of cyber threats, leveraging their expertise in intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, and engineering fields. As an individual contributor, you will lead collaborative projects that involve working alongside other analysts, control systems specialists, power engineers, and cyber researchers. These projects will encompass both short- and long-term technical initiatives, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and project completion. You will be responsible for distilling complex information into concise written reports, briefings, and strategy documents tailored for non-technical audiences. This will necessitate a strong understanding of engineering practices—whether electrical, mechanical, or power—and computer science principles. In this role, you will blend your technical expertise with threat analysis to counter cyberattacks targeting ICS within critical infrastructure sectors such as the electrical grid, oil and gas pipelines, nuclear energy facilities, military installations, and transportation networks. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a Department of Energy "Q" clearance and SCI, which necessitates U.S. citizenship. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of published analyses on cybersecurity issues or ICS in critical infrastructure, as well as experience in intelligence analysis and report authorship for government consumers.
