About the position

The Control Systems Engineer at Eastman is responsible for developing and maintaining automation solutions for various manufacturing processes across domestic and international locations. This role involves designing and programming control systems, managing industrial communication equipment, and ensuring the integration and lifecycle management of these systems. The engineer will also engage in project leadership and may become a Subject Matter Expert in control system networking and industrial instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• DCS/PLC/HMI/Safety System design and programming in a variety of formats and platforms.
• DCS, PLC, and HMI programming.
• Development and design of the control system strategy and architecture.
• Configuration and management of industrial communication equipment.
• Cost estimate and schedule development for projects.
• Purchasing and acceptance testing of hardware and software.
• System integration with existing equipment.
• System simulation, start up, and check-out.
• Lifecycle management activities from conception to dismantlement.
• SIS and SIL rated safety equipment.
• Candidate may become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in control system networking and industrial instrumentation devices.
• Engineering drawing development, review and approval.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic or Chemical preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in DCS design, commissioning, and maintenance (prefer DeltaV, Ovation, or Honeywell).
• Project leadership skills are a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with other DCS platforms (NovaTech/Valmet D3, Yokogawa) is a plus.
• Experience with PLC equipment (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred).
• Experience with Safety Systems (prefer Rockwell Trusted, Emerson DeltaV, Triconex).
