About the position

The System Integration and Control Systems Engineer at Jacobs will play a crucial role in addressing municipal water challenges through innovative engineering solutions. This position involves leading projects from design to onsite startup, focusing on SCADA integration and Instrumentation and Control systems. The engineer will work closely with local clients and contribute to the development of junior engineers, while leveraging the company's extensive technical resources and global reach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to connect with local clients and develop SCADA integration and Instrumentation and Control projects.
  • Develop control system software in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Perform facility startups and commissioning activities.
  • Review construction submittals and conduct site evaluations.
  • Make recommendations for control system upgrades and manage control system projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and management.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in I&C Systems Integration design.
  • Experience in Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development.
  • Proficient in I/O list development and instrumentation selection.
  • Experience in control panel layout and wiring, and detailed loop wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with PLC equipment list development and programming software.
  • Ability to develop and manage control system scope of work and projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Water infrastructure Instrumentation & Controls Systems design experience.
  • Experience with MCC and VFD control requirements.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
  • Control System Master Plan development and execution experience.
  • Experience with control system project delivery in Hawaii.
