About the position

The Control Systems Engineering Manager will collaborate with manufacturing and R&D teams to develop and implement long-term strategies aimed at driving technical innovation across Schneller's products and processes. This role is responsible for maintaining all control system assets and applications related to the Industrial Control Network (ICN), Distributed Control System (DCS), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES), while enhancing production capabilities and ensuring product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing and R&D teams to develop and execute long-term strategies and projects.
  • Maintain all control system assets and applications related to ICN, DCS, and MES.
  • Support Operations, Commercial, and R&D teams to enhance production capabilities.
  • Set goals and objectives for control systems functions and system architecture.
  • Maintain ICN hardware devices, including Cisco IDF switch stacks and Stratus servers.
  • Develop custom reports and feature sets within SCADA, HMIs, and MES.
  • Improve existing process control strategies and manage projects to enhance manufacturing quality and safety.
  • Aid in the development and commissioning of new work centers and process equipment.
  • Manage strategic vendors and execute CAPEX projects related to control system infrastructure.
  • Mentor technical and maintenance team members in process control and data analysis.
  • Travel to evaluate suppliers and participate in training (approximately 10%).
  • Manage cross-functional interactions and obstacles to support operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) required.
  • Three to five years of related engineering management/leadership experience in an industrial environment.
  • Three to five years of process control engineering experience using Rockwell Automation Controllogix platform.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL query writing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Industrial control experience, including PLC control systems (Allen Bradley).
  • Proven prioritization, organization, and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Highly functional in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply SPC methods.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply lean manufacturing principles.
