About the position

The Control Systems Engineering Specialist at Caterpillar is responsible for developing, debugging, and refining control software for fuel systems on diesel engines. This role involves defining requirements, innovating solutions, and optimizing the performance and reliability of engine products. A hands-on approach, including lab work, is essential for success in this position, which requires technical leadership in designing advanced electrical control systems and integrating them with mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in designing advanced electrical control systems.
• Integrate electrical and mechanical systems for enhanced performance.
• Design and implement software and procedures for electro-mechanical systems.
• Prototype mechatronic devices with motors, solenoids, gears, sensors, and springs.
• Identify and address areas of product weakness in finished products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
• Extensive experience in communicating complex concepts effectively.
• Extensive experience in problem-solving techniques and approaches.
• Extensive experience in conceptual thinking and reasoning.
• Extensive experience with embedded systems and their applications.
• Extensive experience in requirements analysis.
