As a Control Systems Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting both Foxboro and Honeywell distributed control systems (DCS). This position involves maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of DCS systems, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will provide local support to operations, projects, third-party vendor contractors, and end users, making your expertise vital to our success. Your responsibilities will include day-to-day troubleshooting and support for local and business-level applications used at the Beaumont site. You will respond promptly to system outages, execute ongoing systems checks, maintenance activities, and data backups. Additionally, you will assist system engineers with upgrades, enhancements, or initiatives involving equipment and/or systems related to the industrial control system environment. Documentation is key in this role; you will maintain cabinet drawings and reference documentation for all DCS systems, stewarding all aspects of additions, changes, upgrades, decommissions, or replacements. You will oversee any third parties providing local or remote support for site-specific applications and provide expertise for process and execution-related questions for locally used applications. Understanding the security and controls documents and their relationship to process control systems is essential. You will also ensure that monthly and quarterly reports are recorded and documented, and you will be responsible for installing, upgrading, troubleshooting Windows servers, workstations, applications, TCP/IP, and Cisco network equipment. This role supports 24/7 operations, and the successful candidate must be available for on-call, after-hours, and weekend support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and support for local and business-level applications used at the site.
  • Respond to system outages in a timely manner.
  • Execute ongoing systems checks, maintenance activities, and data backups.
  • Assist system engineers with upgrades, enhancements, or initiatives involving equipment and/or systems relating to the industrial control system environment.
  • Maintain cabinet drawings and reference documentation for all DCS systems.
  • Steward all aspects of additions, changes, upgrades, decommissions, or replacements.
  • Oversee any third parties providing local or remote support for site-specific applications.
  • Provide expertise for process and execution-related questions for locally used applications.
  • Maintain an understanding of the security and controls documents and their relationship to process control systems.
  • Ensure that monthly and quarterly reports are recorded and documented.
  • Install, upgrade, troubleshoot Windows servers, workstations, applications, TCP/IP, and Cisco network equipment.
  • Support, troubleshoot, configure, and administer Windows Active Directory Domain services and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience in a Refining or Downstream Chemicals manufacturing/operating plant environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Honeywell TDC 2000/3000/Experion and/or Foxboro IA/EVO series 100/200 Hardware and Software.
  • Process control knowledge and/or experience in control systems (DCS).
  • Windows Client Server and Networking skills required.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to be flexible, manage multiple priorities, and work well within a team environment.
