The Controller position is a critical role within a leading commercial construction contractor based in Phoenix, Arizona, offering a competitive salary range of $100K to $130K. This position is designed for an experienced professional who will work closely with the CEO and oversee all accounting and financial functions of the organization. The Controller will be responsible for the direct supervision of the monthly close process, ensuring accurate billing for services provided, managing accounts receivables and payables, preparing budgets, and conducting quarterly tax projections as well as annual tax return preparations. Additionally, the role includes treasury administration, which is vital for maintaining the financial health of the company. In this role, the Controller will implement processes to record transactions by department, allowing for a detailed comparison of incurred costs to budgeted amounts. The position requires a thorough review and recording of journal entries to accurately reflect monthly activities, as well as overseeing the monthly accounting close process. This includes conducting analytical reviews of monthly operating results to ensure that accurate accounting records are maintained. The Controller will also be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, year-to-date cash flow reports, and related footnotes, which are essential for internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will gain proficiency in the company's ERP/MRP software and will support the implementation of new technology and automation to enhance financial processes. The Controller will assist in the development and enforcement of corporate policies and procedures, particularly in areas such as invoice processing and cash management. Furthermore, the role involves ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and producing accurate and timely financial information. A proper analytical review of asset operations from various financial perspectives will also be a key responsibility, ensuring that the company maintains a strong financial position.
