We are seeking a Controller Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the effective management and profitable operation of the assigned branch office. This role involves supervising the accounting department, which consists of 10 staff members, and requires a strong focus on budgeting and analyzing information to assess current and future financial statuses. The Controller Accounting Manager will review costs for optimal budget planning and evaluate reporting systems and collection procedures. Additionally, this position oversees the daily operations of the accounting team, guiding financial decisions, recommending, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures to maintain a system of controls and provide appropriate information to manage the business. The successful candidate will manage financial data analytics and prepare budgets and financial reports by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial and operating data. They will perform annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly variance analysis. Acting as a business partner to the President and board members, the Controller will gather and analyze financial information with company fundamentals and make business, sector, and industry recommendations. This role also involves providing financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures, acquisitions, or special projects, as necessary. In addition, the Controller Accounting Manager will manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting. They will develop accounting staff through coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, while also planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. The role requires interfacing with customers and vendors to create alliances for best practices in daily operations, performing contract reviews, and collaborating with Operations. The Controller will prepare a wide array of financial analysis and presentations as needs arise and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions. Overall, this position oversees and participates in the operations of the Accounting Department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
