About the position

The Controller/Accounting Manager will oversee the financial activities of the company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all business areas. This role requires strong management skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to provide key financial data and insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will manage financial staff, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and maintain internal controls while continuously improving financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial activities of the company
• Improve efficiency and effectiveness by providing key financial data, analysis, and insights
• Manage financial staff responsible for general accounting, AR, AP, billing, cost accounting, inventory accuracy, and risk management
• Direct the preparation and quality control of all financial reports
• Meet regularly with department heads to offer insight and direction
• Provide internal controls
• Responsible for annual business planning and forecasting
• Analyze actual versus planned results to identify opportunities
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Oversee the production of periodic financial reports
• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards
• Produce the annual budget and forecasts
• Report significant budget differences to management
• Work with external auditors for the annual audit
• File quarterly and annual reports
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of accounting and/or financial experience
• Superior attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Ability to work closely with Management
• General understanding of financial trends and accounting principles
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products
