About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller/Bookkeeper to join our team at a Full Service Mortgage Banker, approved by Fannie, Freddie, FHA, VA, and USDA. This position offers the flexibility of mostly remote work, allowing you to contribute to our financial operations from the comfort of your home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including transactions, ledgers, and accounts. You will prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents, ensuring that all financial activities are recorded accurately and timely. In this role, you will also reconcile bank statements and ensure consistency with internal records. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and statements will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will handle the timely submission and processing of payroll, manage accounts payable and receivable functions, and monitor outstanding payments and accounts. Compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards is crucial, and you will be responsible for financial reporting to counterparties. Collaboration with the finance team and other departments will be essential to support our financial operations. You will also provide support during audits and financial reviews, ensuring that all financial practices align with industry standards. This position is perfect for someone who has a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Prior experience in real estate mortgage/lending industry is a plus.
