About the position

The Controller/Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the organization, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, and developing strategic workflows to support growth. This role encompasses bookkeeping and accounting operations, invoicing, compliance with regulations, and managing accounts receivable and payable functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor relations, invoicing, and reconcile accounts payable.
  • Develop, manage, and oversee center budgets, tracking performance against financial goals.
  • Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll reports, and general ledger.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to maintain internal control safeguards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, conducting audits and coordinating with external auditors as needed.
  • Collaborate with COO/CFO to set strategic goals, develop financial models, and advise on financial implications of business decisions.
  • Monitor cash flow to ensure the organization can meet its financial obligations.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide strategic insights and recommendations for cost savings and performance improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a financial management position.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.
