About The Position

Shulman Rogers is seeking a Controller/CFO to serve as the senior financial executive for the Firm. The Controller/CFO will oversee all financial aspects of the Firm, providing strategic leadership, direction, and management of the accounting, financial reporting, and analysis functions. This role is critical to driving the Firm's long-term financial health, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting the Firm's growth objectives. This position will provide financial insights, recommendations, and reporting to support operational and strategic initiatives while ensuring that adequate financial controls and risk management practices are in place to protect the Firm's assets and maximize profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in senior financial leadership roles, with experience in a professional services or legal industry environment strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing finance and accounting teams.
• Expert-level proficiency in financial systems, data analysis, and MS Excel; experience with PerfectLaw, SQL, or similar legal practice management systems strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of driving operational efficiencies, cost containment, and revenue optimization.
• Strong understanding of legal industry billing structures, client trust accounts, and regulatory compliance requirements.
