About the position

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our family-owned home building company located in Walnut Creek, CA. With over 50 years in the industry, we are looking for a strong leader to guide our financial operations as we transition into the next generation of our business. The current CFO, who has been with us for 30 years, will be retiring at the end of the upcoming tax season, creating an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to step in and make a significant impact. As the CFO, you will oversee the entire financial operation of our business, which includes managing our Family Office dealings that encompass multiple business entities. This role requires a versatile individual who can wear many hats, including overseeing construction loans, external reporting, tax strategy, managing the financial team, land acquisition, and property management. Your expertise in construction accounting and tax strategy will be crucial in ensuring the financial health and growth of our company. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in financial management, particularly within the construction or home building industry. You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with our business goals, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making at the executive level. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary range of $190,000 to $210,000, along with a profit-sharing bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire financial operation of the business.

Requirements
